This past weekend I had the privilege of attending the Black Girls In Cyber Refresh Summit and it was nothing short of amazing! The creater and founder of BGiC, Talya C. Parker Not only was this conference focused on diving into all things cybersecurity and privacy, but also focused on 🌱 mental wellness, which is just as important. My cup is full. ❤️ and her team had a vision to 🌻Refresh, 💡Inspire, and 💪🏾Affirm all those who attended and I have to say, mission accomplished! The phenomenal speakers, workshops, volunteers, and socials were top tier. While the Black Girls In Cyber Refresh Summit may be over (😭), the feelings of refreshment, empowerment, and affirmation linger on. 💛 This summit was a haven where being your true self wasn’t just accepted but celebrated. Women and allies from every corner of the cyber industry came together, forming bonds that transcended distances. We were privileged to listen to powerful speakers and gain insights into embracing our authenticity, shattering the limits on our dreams, and being faithful ally to black women and all those in this industry whose perspectives and journeys are too often underrepresented. The experience was more than a networking opportunity or cyber conference; it was a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Witnessing the dreams of the incredible Cybersecurity Visionary Talya C. Parker unfolded was a testament to the strength found in the support of sisters throughout the industry. This summit was not just an event; it was a heartfelt celebration of unity, authenticity, and the limitless potential within each of us. We already can’t wait to attend again next year.

I still reflect on the loneliness I felt in the industry, in NYC, nearly 10 years ago and so LOVE to see this space here, and the community this creates, to hold the visions and dreams black women have for themselves and each other, in cyber. LOVED sharing my learnings from over the years and connecting with old and new friends. I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
